Gitameit began with donations by a generous circle of friends and some foundations. Gitameit makes some money from tuition fees and choir performances and recordings, most of which goes to pay faculty. Concerts have raised some money for outreach projects.

Gitameit is in great need of instruments, instrument supplies, CDs, music scores, computer equipment, books in English on music and the arts. We will have to move from our building in 2008 and are raising funds to accommodate a move to a rental property.
