On May 29th, in the midst of the chaos and devastation that followed Cyclone Nargis, Gitameit celebrated a fund raising concert for Nargis victims by holding the Daffodil Song concert. Some highlights of the evening included Saw James conducting Attachment of Cloud, Htun Htun’s rendition of If I were a rich man, and Broadway Soloist Pyae Phyo Han. In the spirit of Gitameit, the Yale Spizzwinks are working with the Gitameit Music Center in Rangoon, Burma to bring a choir to the United States in 2008. It will be the first ever visit of a Burmese choir to the US.
