Gitameit Voices and The Yale Spizzwinks(?) – America’s oldest underclassmen a cappella group – present the first ever visit of a Burmese choir to the United States. Also featuring a combined chorus of Yale and New Haven singers under the direction of Jeffrey Douma, Director, Yale Glee Club.
The concert is organized as a joint project between the Yale Spizzwinks and the Foundation for the People of Burma.

On their 2007 world tour, the Spizzwinks(?) stopped in Rangoon, Burma (Yangon, Myanmar) and worked with students at the Gitameit Music School. Together, they performed the Burmese poem, “Thekyin So Mei” (Let’s Sing Together) to the tune of the American Spiritual “Keep Your Lamps” from the Gitameit group’s repertoire.
